We’ve had a few windy, cloudy days. I’ve been in the mood for boots and miniskirts…for me, that is such a go-to outfit formula and beloved look. It’s a look I love because it’s flirty and a bit sassy. I remember when I was first dating Jeff I wore a lot of skirts/boots outfits. Combat boots with tweed a-line minis, python ankle boots with ruched floral miniskirts come to mind when I remember some of those looks. I think it’s a good look for first dates, or any time! I wear this combination all of the time, especially with these super cute Marsell boots.

One of my absolute favorite trends for 2016 is embroidery. I love it on clothing, jackets, jeans, and even shoes! My obsession with floral prints means that of course I would automatically gravitate toward floral print embroidery. I’ve been on the lookout for ways to rock the embroidery trend this fall/winter season, and I found a perfect way in this gorgeous embroidered bomber jacket from Missguided.
Actually, this jacket combined two major trends, embroidery and bomber jackets, so I was pretty stoked to find it. It’s about $60 but I got it for $40 and change! Loooove a good deal.
I bought this jacket in early fall, and I can wear it through winter provided it’s not super cold. I wanted to style this jacket for da blog in a way that’s casual and wearable, yet chic and trendy! I hope I’ve achieved this…
I love this style of corduroy button down skirt; I have two other colors! I think it’s such an easy style to wear and very trendy. Flat boots and a simple black bodysuit make this look a little edgy but also comfortable.
What I like most about the embroidery trend is how versatile and wearable it is. I’ve worn this jacket almost daily when it’s not freezing out; I’ve worn with pants, dresses, and skirts, and I’ve worn it to work. I like being able to highlight the many colors woven into the pattern, and I’ve also gotten loads of compliments. For more ideas about how to wear the embroidery trend, see my other blog post about it!
Winter tends to be one of my favorite times of year, especially for clothing. But it’s also a festive and joyous season, and I always look forward to the new year and new beginnings. This year was a bit of a tough one for me, so here’s hoping 2017 is a lot better!
